It's been a while since I've posted, and there's been plenty going on!

First, let me introduce you to our Fall Fragrances:

I have chosen ten fragrances to showcase for Fall. These fragrances have limited availability. Should we run out of any Limited Edition Fall Fragrances, we will do what we can to accommodate you on an individual basis. I've also included a list of Everyday Fragrances that are perfect for Fall - Crisp, Spicy, Warm, and Comforting.

LIMITED EDITION

Amish Friendship Bread: Amish Friendship Bread fragrance is the aroma of fresh baked bread with notes of raisin, nut, and strawberries. A recipe for Amish Friendship Bread will be included with your order.

Brown Sugar & Fig: A magical, complex fragrance composed of top notes of Fresh figs, peaches, and passion fruit; followed by middle notes of coconut milk, vanilla orchid, jasmine, muguet, and freesia; well-balanced with base notes of vanilla beans, caramel, maple sugar, fig leaves, and musk.

Candy Corn: A warm vanilla candy with top notes of butter with a slight down of almond.

Cedar Wood: A warm earthy scent of cedar, with base notes of vanilla and musk.

Granny’s Pecan Pie: An aroma of fresh southern pecans smothered in a pralines and butter sauce, with a baked crust.

Mulled Cider: Fantastic strong fragrance! This fragrance has strong base notes of ripened apples and oakmoss, made spectacular with a complex blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, orange zests, lemon peel, and a touch of tart lychee berries and coumarin. Unbelievable!

Pilgrims Pie: A holiday delight! Pilgrim's Pie fragrance is a scrumptious, highly complex accord beginning with top notes of pumpkin and lemon; with middle notes of champagne, grapes, nutmeg, and smoked cinnamon; and rounded out with base notes of vanilla, tea leaves, and hickory.

Potpourri Spice: The aroma of sweet cream pumpkin, complimented with nuances of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and ginger; rounded out with buttery vanilla notes.

Witching Hour: A fun Halloween fragrance composed of spicy, magical notes. This accord begins with freshly ground cinnamon bark, and complimented with herbal notes of bergamot, cannabis flower, jasmine, and rose; and sits on earthy base notes of sheer musk, black tea, and patchouli.

EVERYDAY

Bamboo Balsam: This supremely fresh and modern fragrance blends the clean scent of bamboo with the aromatic scent of balsam.

Blueberry Muffins: Fresh plump blueberries blended with creamy vanilla and a fresh baked aroma, lightly accented with warm spices. Smells good enough to eat.

Café Latté: The perfect coffee lovers fragrance. Indulge in this creamy coffee scent with a rich nutty blend for an aroma that will last for hours. A yummy holiday favorite!

Cedar & Saffron: The sweet woodsy scent of cedar merges with the exquisite Eastern spice; Saffron. For your added pleasure undertones of Coriander mingle with base notes of amber and musk. This sweet woodsy scent takes on an exotic spicy tone for a unique long lasting fragrance.

Nag Champa: This aromatic incense will enhance any mood or environment with its earthy sandalwood, blended with musk and patchouli. The floral scents of rose and orange blossom make this a pleasant fragrance.

Orange Ginger (Bath & Body Works Type): The invigorating aroma of Italian orange essential oil bursts with energy as ginger is added, stimulating the senses. A zesty citrus blend with a spicy kick that will follow you wherever you go!

Orange Spice: Freshly squeezed oranges dominate this clean luscious scent - Subtle hints of oriental spices are intermingled for relaxed contentment.

Red Apple Peel: A perfect Autumn aroma of juicy red Macintosh apples.

Vetyver: A complex blend of spices, patchouli, and sandalwood, this fragrance is smooth and seductive. Fresh Spanish moss caps off this gorgeous, sophisticated scent.

Welcome Home: All the comforts of a holiday home come together in this festive fusion of creamy French vanilla, cinnamon sticks and cool peppermint with fresh fir, soothing musk and rich, robust cedarwood.

Busy, busy!

We're finally back in the swing of things, just in time for me to go on vacation.

In the last month, we've experienced some difficulties with ordering, and I apologize for the inconvenience! All seems to be working just fine now, but if you have any problems, PLEASE email me.

We've added reed diffusers!!! We have four different sizes/styles to choose from at varying prices. Choose any fragrance you wish for your diffuser, and enjoy the scent for a long, long time!

Fall is just around the corner, and we're getting ready to order new fall fragrances. Look for them in the next few weeks! Here's what's on our list:

Amish Friendship Bread: The aroma of fresh baked bread with notes of raisin, nut, and strawberries.
Apple Butter Caramel: An amazing combination of the following fragrance notes make apple butter caramel fragrance truly fantastic: McIntosh apple, steamed milk, pure sugar, caramel candy, toffee pudding, apple butter, fresh nutmeg, vanilla bean, and soft musk.
Apple Pie: Just like Grandma bakes, but with an extra "kick" of cinnamon.
Black Licorice: Great for Halloween time! Strong and true to its name; our black licorice scent is sure to please!
Blackberry Jam: WOW....what a wonderful fragrance! A well-rounded blend of ripe and tart blackberries with base notes of vanilla and fresh greenery.

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie: Southern baking comes alive! The aroma of sweet fresh strawberries mixed with sour rhubarb marmalade, with a base note of flaky pie crust. Very unique!
Sweet Potato Pie: A rich combination of candied yams, marshmallow cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange zests, and a splash of lemon, in a warm buttery southern crust.
Toffee Apple Crunch: The aroma of a granny smith apple with creamy, buttery caramel; dipped in crunchy toffee chips.
Whole Wheat Bread: This whole wheat bread fragrance smells just like freshly-baked bread; light on the yeast, and heavy on the crisp crust. You will love it!
Wildberry Scone: The aroma of freshly baked English scones with hints of strawberry, coconut, raspberry, and blackberries.
Wintery Candy Apple: A fun fragrance that begins with top notes of crispy apple, pineapple, and zests of orange; followed by middle notes of neroli and cinnamon; embodied with base notes of sandalwood, fresh musk, bamboo, and patchouli.
Witching Hour: A fun Halloween fragrance composed of spicy, magical notes. This accord begins with freshly ground cinnamon bark, and complimented with herbal notes of bergamot, cannabis flower, jasmine, and rose; and sits on earthy base notes of sheer musk, black tea, and patchouli.

I will be on vacation from Thursday, August 26th through Monday, September 13th. During this time, we will be accepting orders, however they will not be filled until I return. If you place an order while I'm gone, your order will ship by Saturday, September 25th.

Jar Lids

Thankfully I got a call back from my vendor yesterday. The lids were supposed to come with the 18 ounce apothecary jars. Yup, thought so. :o)

The lids are being shipped, and should arrive sometime next week. In the meantime, I am accepting orders for the 18 ounce SOY-SOY Good! Square Apothecary Jars.

The jars have arrived. However, they arrived without lids. Hmmmmmmm. They were supposed to come with lids. I have checked with the vendor, and they should get back to me when they figure out what happened, hopefully today. Ugh!

Why can nothing be easy? It said "18 oz Square Apothecary Jar with Lid" - one would assume that means that they come with a lid...OY!

Big Things Happenin'

It's been a little while since I've posted an entry, but I'm excited about the improvements at http://www.klizdesigns.com/!

I've absolutely fallen in love with color blocks! The colors are more true and easier to control than they are with the liquid dyes. There are now more options for coloring the candles too! I couldn't be more happy with my decision to try them out!

The wrap-around labels are KILLER!!! I don't know why I didn't think of it before. Seriously! They're clean, informative and very professional. Once I figured out how to get them to print correctly, they're easy peasy!

The new 18 ounce Square Apothecary jars should be delivered today. I am soooooooooo excited about these jars! They will be replacing our 16 ounce Ball Elite canning jars. I would much rather not have to order glassware from the Mainland, but after a month of not being able to locate the Ball Elite jars on-island, I was left with no choice. These apothecary jars are going to ROCK!!! I just know it! They're a great size; an interesting shape, and I can't wait to see the colors in them! As soon as they hit my doorstep, I'll be trying them out and posting pictures. And, because the jars are so cool all on their own, I've decided to use clear labels on them!

I attended the Hawaii Kai Dog Walk with K9 Kokua on June 6th and seem to have generated a lot of interest. One of the walkers even ordered TEN candles to be delivered this weekend! Brochure

I've finally gotten around to creating a fact sheet/brochure for K.Liz Designs. I will now have a handout for potential customers when I attend various events with my products.

Adventures in Candle Making

The palm wax has arrived! I was so excited when the UPS guy dropped the box on my doorstep last night! I'll be makin' PALM-tastic! candles today to try out the new wax.

I also received color blocks in a bazillion different colors and I can't wait to try them out too!

This box was just full of goodies! Yes, I ordered them, but it was like Christmas morning when I opened the box! The last surprise is Pina Colada fragrance for our brand new specialty candle line, inspired by and named after my son, the J.Paul Signature Collection. I am so excited, and can't wait to make the first candle for him to "approve"!

PALM-TASTIC!

I ordered some palm wax today. I've been wanting to try it because it is a sustainable & renewable resource, has a cool feathering texture, is all natural, and is bio-degradable. I can't wait to get it in the mail next week! If the palm wax works like I am hoping that it does, my new candle line is going to be called "PALM-tastic!"

I've also decided to try color blocks, as opposed to liquid candle dye. I haven't worked with color blocks yet, but am already excited at the prospect of a whole new line of colors!

Busy-busy!

This past weekend, Mother's Day weekend, I joined K9 Kokua (http://www.k9kokua.org/) at the largest pet event in Hawai'i, The Pet Expo - an incredible weekend with amazing people. It was such a pleasure to be invited to spend the weekend in such great company. Thanks to Kale, K.Liz Designs is on the map on Oahu and I was able to raise a nice chunk of change for K9 Kokua's medical fund.

I was pretty wiped out from the weekend, and have yet to leave the house since coming home from Town on Sunday afternoon. Instead, I've been working on a new label design for the K.Liz Designs candles. After two full days of editing, I'm happy with the new design, and can't wait to get my new labels in the mail!

The new labels will be wrap-around in style, showcasing product perks on the left, product name and fragrance in the middle, and manufacturing information on the right. After some thought, I've decided to stick with the brown kraft label instead of a white or clear label. However, that may change. We'll see.

Now, I have to get ready for two more events that are fast approaching. I can't thank Kale enough for inviting me to join K9 Kokua to help get my name out there! Mahalo Sister!

Fundraising

Last week we volunteered to submit a prize in an auction to help a 6 month old Italian Greyhound in rescue. Emmy Lou is at Hazel Jane's in Oklahoma and needs surgery to correct her knees...she was born without knee-caps. Little Emmy Lou is positively adorable and full of life, and I can't wait to see a video of her after her surgery! Here she is now: EMMY LOU

This weekend is the 2nd Annual UHIB ABKC Super Bully Show at Aloha Stadium. We've been invited to participate by our dear friend Kale, who is the founder of K9 Kokua. K9 Kokua is a non-profit that does whatever they can to assist the homeless on Oahu's beaches with their canine companions. They provide food, shampoo, vetting, and rehoming options for dogs that would otherwise go without. Kale is amazing and so are the folks who work with her. Kale invited us to participate in this event to get our name "out there" with the local community. I've turned it into a fundraiser for KK. We have about 80 eight ounce jelly jar candles in 12 different fragrances that we'll be selling at the K9 Kokua booth all day on Sunday.

We're excited to participate and hopefully raise some money for this great, and much needed group!

We got new fragrances today!

LEMONGRASS SAGE - A wonderful blend of garden herbs and sparkling citrus notes. Hearty lemongrass and fresh, earthy sage combine to complete this uplifting fragrance.

SPLASH OF RAIN - A splash of rain signals the beginning of spring! Fresh, floral and ozone notes blend with subtle tones of pretty rose petals and sensuous woods. Fresh & crisp like a rainy spring day.

NONI FRUIT - A crisp and exotic blend of Asian pear, bitter melon and lemon verbena twisted with a hint of ginger.

MANGO CILANTRO - Tropical Mango Nectar mixes with Fresh Green Cilantro in this exotic blend. A captivating frangrance that makes you think of faraway places.

We're up to 96 options now.  Whoo hoo!

Early Tuesday

So, because the husband gets up early on Tuesday's, the doggers decided that they wanted to get up as well. I'd been fighting it since about 5am, but succumbed to the needs of the fur-kids at 6:15. 

The coffee just finished brewing and the pups are all sacked out on the chair with me.  They'll eat in 40 minutes and my day will officially begin.

On today's plate:

3. Ship candles already made

I'm looking forward to a productive day.  It's a hot one outside...maybe once I've finished working, I'll do some yardwork.  Hmmm...there's a thought.
